The “VII International Conference on English and ESP Lexicology and Lexicography: Computational Linguistics, Corpus linguistics and Artificial Intelligence” will be held at the University of Alicante from May 9th to 10th, 2024.
The LexESP research group (University of Alicante) has been the unique organiser of this event in its successful six previous editions. On this occassion, however, and exceptionally, LexESP has joined its effort with the the GPLSI research group, affiliated with the Department of Software and Computing Systems at the same University and also with the members of the DIGITENDER project. It is precisely this collective expertise that gives shape to this Conference.
In a departure from its traditional seminar format, this event has evolved into a conference, thanks to a collaboration with the GPLSI group. This joint effort has led to the selection of a compelling theme: ‘Computational Linguistics, Corpus Linguistics, and Artificial Intelligence.’ The interdisciplinary scope of this conference creates an inclusive space for a diverse range of topics, with a particular focus on the relationship between linguistics, especially lexicology, and artificial intelligence. This can be explored in greater detail within the Call for Papers.
The conference aims to serve as a nexus for researchers, professionals, students, and all individuals intrigued by the intersections of English for Specific Purposes, Computational Linguistics, Corpus Linguistics, and Artificial Intelligence. By fostering collaboration, interdisciplinary and knowledge exchange, we aspire to cultivate a vibrant community interested in advancing the understanding and application of these dynamic fields.
